Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program

At WSI we offer a comprehensive training program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy within a psycho-dynamic framework. The emphasis throughout your training will be on an integration of theory and practicum. The training  integrates academic, clinical, and supervisory components with an intensive training analysis and as a candidate you will receive a solid grounding in psychoanalytic theory and technique  across a range of contemporary psychoanalytic approaches.

Our training program is geared towards those contemplating a career change, and towards beginning clinicians who wish to learn the principles of psychoanalytic psychotherapy and practice to further enhance their skills.

Features of the WSI training program:

- small seminars; evening classes; free weekly supervision

- classes, clinical work, and supervision all take place at WSI

- patients are provided to candidates from our on-site treatment center.

Certificate: Upon completion of the training program all candidates receive a certificate in Psychoanalysis & Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
Licensure: WSI is a NYSED-approved psychoanalytic training institute. Candidates who complete our training program are eligible to apply for the NY State License in Psychoanalysis(LP). In addition, WSI is a NY State-approved setting for LMSW candidates who wish to fulfill experience hours for their LCSW.
