It is a refereed journal, indexed both in the Psychological Abstracts and the Psychoanalytic Abstracts. Although the journal publishes the transactions of all scientific meetings of the Institute, it accepts manuscripts from professionals not connected with the Institute. National as well as international libraries are subscribers.Published bi-annually, a yearly subscription is $28.00, payable by check made out to Washington Square Institute. Notes & CommentsOur newsletter, Notes and Comments (published quarterly) is primarily a means of communication for the staff of Washington Square Institute as well as other for professionals in the field of psychoanalysis or psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The editor, Dr. Gerd Fenchel focuses on news in the mental health field whether it be political or scientific. At times, a major portion of the publication will be devoted to a concept in psychoanalysis such as "neutrality", "close process monitoring", or suggested revisions of theory. Attention is paid to applications of psychoanalytic understanding to cultural phenomena and reviews of recently published books or articles.
